Thank you for visiting our website! We created it to keep our friends and family updated on Hannah's progress - now at home instead of the NICU!! We're happy to announce she came home on 1/27 after 6 weeks in the NICU. We'll keep posting updates in the "Updates" section and will add photos, however it won't be as frequent as it was in the hospital. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. We're so thankful to have so many people who care about us and little Hannah. (the photo above was taken on 4/26)
About Hannah:
Hannah was born 7 weeks early on December 16, 2007. She had IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction), which meant she wasn't able to grow adequately in utero. The dr's had been closely monitoring her growth and decided on December 16th that it was time for her to make an entrance into the world. Her growth had slowed and the doppler ultrasound was showing decreased bloodflow in the umbilical cord - a sign she wasn't getting enough oxygen. Luckily, she was born very healthy and strong...just small. She was in the NICU at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles for 6 weeks before coming home on January 27, 2008 at 4 lbs and 2 oz.
And for those of you that don't know, we had much debate over her middle name. In the end, we chose Sloane because it means "fighter". And she sure is a little fighter...when she was born she had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice and it was so small the dr's had a hard time drawing blood from it to run the normal tests. No wonder she was having trouble growing. But she was going to make sure she made it into this world no matter what! Lots of Love, Carla, Billy & Hannah
